Shree Machchhu Kathia Sai Suthar Gnyati basically belongs to Rajasthan side and in search of business shifted in Gujrat. Initially settled at bank of Machchhu river. Some has developed tailoring as their business. Because of that this cast become famous as "Shree Machchhu Kathia (from the bank of Machchhu River) Sai (tailor) Suthar (carpenter)".

Other belief is that this cast is hereditary of "Lord Viswakarma" (The GOD of creative work). Who accepted tailoring & carpentry as their business. This is how Machchhu Kathia Sai Suthar Gnyati came to existence.

With the change in time & circumstances, families of this cast spread all over the India from the bank of Machchhu river. Some also went outside of India also. Today in many states in India like Maharshtra, M.P., West Bengal, Delhi as well as foreign countries like USA, UK Canada, Dubai etc.... the families of this cast are staying.

In most of big cities where this cast member stays. They created organisations, trust or society for social, economical, religious, cultural & educational development of cast member. At present around 77 organisation are there in India. The first ever such organisation was created at Rajkot. In 1929 AD the general meeting of the cast was held at Rajkot. Delegates from all over India had came and meeting continued for three days. The first constitution of Shree Machchhu Kathia Sai Suthar Gnyati Samaja-Rajkot was formed. Thus first organisation Shri Machchhu Kathia Sai Suthar Gnyati Samaj-Rajkot was created in 1929. Then after many other organisation has been created. Today in Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Junagadh, Anjar, Nakhtrana, Anand, Baroda, Surat are some famous cities where these organisation/trusts are very active & creative. Most of the places these organisations owns function hall, boarding etc. where many different kind of activities are taking place like group marriage functions etc.....

For 5 year Devshibhai was the editior of Machchudhara then for 20 years Mr. Kishorbhai D. Sanchla was the editor of Machhudhara. Then Dinehsbhai Chavda, Purshotambhai Chauhan, Bhagvanjibhai Rathod, Shardaben R. Solanki and Dineshbhai Chavda was the editor of Machchhudhara. But it stopped after him.

In between "Machhu Prakash" also published by Kishorbhai D. Sanchla but didn't last long.

At present "Machchhu Deep" is being published since last one and half year. Mr. Rajendra M. Gohel is the editor of "Machchhu Deep".
